Killing Cancer Concert 13th January

Took place at Hammersmith Odeon.
Richard Ashcroft was first on. Fairly dreary, opened with Sonnet and ended with Lucky Man with two other lesser known Verve songs in between. Rightly refused to play The Drugs Don't Work considering the charity it was for.
Bryan Adams next and was brillant. Vying away from recent stuff he did Run To You, Cuts Like A Knife, When You're Gone (with a patient who undergone this new treatment) and Straight From The Heart.
Roger Daltrey solo next who tested the audience with two obscure country blues numbers.
After the Interval people were plugged in and Jeff Beck did Becks Bolero and Day In The Life before Debbie Harry appeared for Heart Of Glass and Call Me. Beck disappeared when she started her final number One Way Or Another.
The Who were on next and seemed a little under rehearsed for Baba O'Reilly, Who Are You and Won't Get Fooled Again. Beck the replaced Townshend for another blues number Mannish Boy, when finally all reappeared bar Ashcroft for a rendition of The Who's Join Together.
A good charity show but a little short considering the stall seats were three figures in price. It was over by half ten so around two hours if you didn't include the interval. Still it's for charity after all.
