After Toby Jepsons departure Gun may have collapsed but with a wealth of new material written founding bass player Dante Gizzi has stepped up to take lead vocals and whereas his only previous outing was on gangsta rap Something Worthwhile he showed here not only can he sing but is probably a better replacement for Mark Rankin than Jepson ever was. Two new songs opened the set before a great Don't Say It's Over. Money (Everybody Loves Her) is a great great tune and followed by another couple of new tunes. This may have failed miserably but actually the new stuff sounded great and has persuaded me to pre-order the album. Gun classics Steal Your Fire and Shame On You ended the set and went down a storm with the small crowd in the upstairs part of the Academy. Hopefully if they keep up this kind of show however hopefully the audience size will increase.
